As a workgroup manager, you are continually looking for ways to speed up the process to get work done. QPS® 7 lets you automate time-consuming processes that cause delays, so team members can focus on their work rather than waste time. QPS 7 offers solutions through multiple choices.
Server-side automation:
- You can create a script that links to a QPS Server event, such as a status change within your QPS 7 workflow. Once a file reaches the designated status, the server triggers the script that automatically exports QuarkXPress® layouts and QuarkCopyDesk® files to PDF and XML.
- Create a server-side script and set it to execute when an asset’s status changes to ‘ARCHIVE’ in the workflow. This action (or QPS Server event) can trigger a script to perform the function for you.
- You can also create server-side scripts that trigger e-mail notifications of tasks and assignments.
Simple user-oriented, client-side automation:
- Simplify the printing and export of QuarkXPress layouts and QuarkCopyDesk files individually or as a batch process to Printers and Imagesetters, Export to PDF, or Export to XML.
Users can create, save, and group Output Profiles directly in QuarkXPress and QuarkCopyDesk. They can link them to statuses in your QPS workflow to move from manual to completely automated output — eliminating costly errors and saving valuable time.
